Google Regains Competitive Momentum with Gemini 3 Model
Google's Gemini 3 AI model and Ironwood chips boost its AI competitiveness, earning praise and helping secure major enterprise deals.
Bloomberg and CNBC reported that Google launched the Gemini 3 model, its latest artificial intelligence model, last week, confirming that it requires fewer instructions and provides smarter answers than previous models. The launch received positive feedback from industry experts, with Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, describing his experience with the new model as a "huge leap" compared to his experience with ChatGPT.
Additionally, Google revealed Ironwood in early November, the seventh generation of tensor processing units that enable customers to run the largest data-intensive models. These chips represent a secret weapon for Google in the AI wars, helping it secure billion-dollar deals with clients like Anthropic.
Analysts believe that Google has finally succeeded in assembling the complementary pieces of its AI offerings after initial setbacks against OpenAI. The company's ability to serve enterprise customers through TPU chips and Google Cloud services, along with integrating Gemini 3 into its consumer products, allows for strong competition in the market. Moreover, Ironwood's energy efficiency - 30 times higher than the first generation - enhances Google's competitive position against Nvidia and other rivals.
