The Saudi stock market opened Monday’s trading session with a steady performance, slightly tilted upwards, as major indices saw limited movement and liquidity was clearly distributed between leading stocks and dividend stocks. Investor caution dominated early session decisions.

The main TASI index reached 11,231.56 points, gaining 14.63 points (0.13%) compared to the previous close of 11,216.93 points. The opening was above the day’s starting level of 11,219.91 points, with the index hitting a high of 11,246.04 and a low of 11,218.28 during early trades, reflecting a narrow range and absence of strong directional momentum.

The session saw around 32,300 trades, with over 31.1 million shares exchanged and a total value approaching SAR 323.1 million. Trading involved 268 listed companies; 115 stocks rose, 125 declined, and 28 remained unchanged, indicating relative market balance.

Other indices showed similar trends: the MT30 index was stable at 1,513.73 points (+0.05%), while the Nomu Parallel Market Index advanced to 23,922.64 points (+0.15%), supported by selective trading in small and mid-sized companies. The Sukuk Index hovered near 918.94 points with minor changes and no clear direction, amid selective trading on listed sukuk and varied issuance performance.

Among actively traded stocks, Americana led the gainers alongside positive moves in Bahri, Yamama Steel, and Thimar. Conversely, some stocks, including Bank Aljazira, Abu Muti, and GO Telecommunications, faced mild selling pressure without sharp declines.

Americana and Bahri recorded the highest activity in value and volume, reflecting a liquidity preference for news-driven or operational expansion stocks, while large-cap blue chips remained steady without sharp movements.

EcoPulse24 Analysis:
Today’s market opening reflects a state of relative calm and anticipation following previous sessions’ gains, with liquidity moving selectively rather than in broad buying waves. The narrow trading range suggests investors are waiting for additional catalysts, such as company results, global market trends, or energy price updates. In the short term, maintaining current index levels is positive, but wider liquidity participation will be crucial for a renewed upward trend in upcoming sessions.
