US stocks continued their recovery as markets moved towards pricing in a more accommodative monetary policy from the Federal Reserve, according to Trading Economics.

The Dow Jones rose by about 1%, while the S&P 500 increased by 0.4%, and the Nasdaq advanced by 0.3%, driven by strong performance in the financial and defensive sectors, amidst a clear repositioning of risks associated with monetary policy in the near term.

This trend followed ADP data showing a surprising drop of 32,000 jobs in the private sector, pushing markets to nearly certainty that the Fed will proceed with interest rate cuts.

Shares of Wells Fargo and Citi each rose by about 3%, as expectations for loan demand improved and short-term funding costs decreased due to anticipated easing policies, while UnitedHealth's stock jumped by more than 4%.

Marvell's shares surged by over 6% after the company raised its outlook for the data center sector, citing stronger revenue and profit margin expectations linked to demand for AI servers.

In contrast, Microsoft’s stock fell by about 2% following reports of the company reducing its sales forecasts for AI products, causing temporary disruptions in the sector before the company issued a denial of those reports.
