Asian markets have seen strong gains for the third consecutive day, driven by expectations of a U.S. interest rate cut in December.

The Indian Sensex index surged by 706 points or 0.84%, reaching 85,293 points, while the Nifty 50 rose by 0.88% to 26,112 points in morning trading. Metal stocks led the gains with a 1.3% increase, followed by banking, automotive, and energy sectors.

Broader markets also saw an uptick, with the Midcap 100 index rising by 1.1% and the Smallcap 100 by 1.2%, while the banking index recorded a new all-time high. The U.S. S&P 500 index showed a slight increase of 0.09% to 6,772 points today.
