Pentagon Selects Google's AI Platform for Millions of Employees

According to Bloomberg, the U.S. Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced today the selection of Alphabet's 'Gemini for Government' platform to deliver artificial intelligence capabilities for approximately three million employees, both civilian and military. The new platform enables the armed forces to rapidly analyze videos and images, thereby enhancing the efficiency of military operations in an era of advanced technology warfare.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated in a video posted on X on Tuesday, "The future of American warfare is here, and it's written in the letters of artificial intelligence." This selection is part of the Pentagon's efforts to integrate AI into its daily systems, reflecting the increasing competition among American tech companies for major defense contracts, amid expectations that AI will become a fundamental tool in future military strategies.
