HSBC Receives License for Regional HQ in Riyadh

According to Bloomberg, the Saudi Ministry of Investment announced the formal licensing of HSBC Holdings to create a regional headquarters in the capital, Riyadh, aimed at managing capital markets and consulting services, as reported by Bloomberg.

This license represents a new step within the Regional Headquarters Program adopted by the Kingdom to attract multinational companies and expand their operational presence within the Saudi market, as part of its efforts to develop the investment environment and enhance the attractiveness of the financial sector.

This development strengthens the British bank's presence in Saudi Arabia, as it already operates through "HSBC Saudi Arabia" listed on the Tadawul, offering a wide range of investment and asset management services.

The new license will allow the bank to expand its operations directly from Riyadh, including arranging mergers and acquisitions, structuring issuances in capital markets, and providing specialized financial consulting, thereby enhancing its ability to serve regional clients and supporting the Kingdom's role as an emerging financial hub in the region.
