CES 2026 witnessed intense rivalry among TV industry giants as they showcased the next generation of Micro RGB screens, promising more vibrant colors, higher contrast, and unprecedented brightness, potentially ending the dominance of traditional OLED and QLED technologies.

Samsung unveiled a massive 130-inch Micro RGB TV prototype, along with new sizes ranging from 55 to 115 inches.

Their first Micro RGB TV, released in August 2025 at 115 inches for $29,999, remains costly, but smaller models are expected to be more affordable.

LG promptly responded by introducing its first 100-inch Micro RGB evo TV, with additional 75- and 86-inch models. LG's TV received Intertek certification for 100% color gamut coverage, meaning it can display every color perceivable to the human eye - a major technical achievement.

LG also showcased its new 100-inch ultra-thin OLED "Wallpaper" TV, designed to mount flush with the wall. In a surprise move, Amazon entered the art TV market with the Ember Artline TV, a direct competitor to Samsung’s The Frame.

Amazon’s OLED 4K TV integrates fully with Amazon Photos and lets users display from 2,000 free artworks when not watching content, turning the TV into a permanent art display.

Micro RGB technology represents a qualitative leap, using millions of micro-LEDs (smaller than 0.1 mm) to produce light and color directly, offering finer pixel-level control, longer lifespan, and much higher brightness - ideal for bright rooms.

Beyond TVs, Samsung also showcased a wide range of new products at its annual 'First Look,' including stylish Music Studio speakers, an updated FreeStyle+ projector, multi-purpose displays, new soundbars, Google Photos integration, and the ultra-slim S95H OLED TV with a zero-gap wall mount. These innovations underline the continued rapid evolution of the TV industry, promising consumers far better viewing experiences in the coming years.
