AMD, Anthropic Forge Strategic AI Partnership to Deploy Up to 2 Gigawatts of Computing Capacity

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and artificial intelligence company Anthropic announced a broad strategic partnership aimed at expanding next-generation AI infrastructure, combining large-scale deployment of AMD's latest AI hardware, a multi-year engineering collaboration centered on Claude, and a strategic equity investment by AMD of up to $5 billion.

Under the agreement, Anthropic plans to deploy up to 2 gigawatts of AMD Instinct MI450 Series GPUs through AMD's Helios rack-scale AI platform, with deployment of the first gigawatt scheduled to begin during the first half of 2027.
