The market's dollar-denominated benchmark also posted a strong performance, with the EGX 30 USD Index rising 2.04% to 3,523 points, highlighting the strength of Egyptian equities from both local and foreign investor perspectives.

EGX 30 Maintains Upward Momentum

The benchmark index opened at 51,994.63 points, touched an intraday high of 52,419.22 points, and never traded below its opening level during the session, reflecting sustained buying interest throughout the day.

The continued advance comes amid improving investor sentiment and strong participation in several heavyweight sectors, particularly financial services and real estate.

Trading Activity Concentrated in Index Constituents

Companies included in the EGX 30 index accounted for a significant share of overall market activity.

Index constituents generated:

  • EGP 6.50 billion in traded value.

  • 546.6 million shares traded.

  • More than 91,000 transactions.

  • Combined market capitalization of approximately EGP 2.0 trillion.

The group represented nearly 57% of total market turnover and more than 55% of total market capitalization, underlining the dominant role of blue-chip stocks in driving market performance.

Financial Services and Real Estate Dominate Trading

Sector activity showed investors concentrating their attention on financial and property-related stocks.

Real Estate led the market with:

  • EGP 3.07 billion in traded value.

  • Nearly 45% of total market volume.

Meanwhile, Non-Banking Financial Services generated:

  • EGP 2.07 billion in turnover.

  • Around 18% of total traded value.

Other actively traded sectors included:

  • Banks: EGP 1.12 billion

  • Food, Beverages & Tobacco: EGP 1.10 billion

  • Construction & Engineering: EGP 876 million

  • Basic Resources: EGP 853 million

The sector breakdown suggests investors continue to favor cyclical and domestically focused industries as the market's rally broadens.

Foreign Investor Perspective Strengthens

One of the more notable developments was the stronger performance of the EGX 30 USD Index, which gained 2.04%, significantly outperforming the local-currency benchmark.

The move suggests that currency-adjusted returns remain attractive for foreign investors and may reinforce Egypt's appeal within emerging-market portfolios.

EcoPulse24 Analysis

Monday's session reinforced the strong momentum that has characterized Egyptian equities throughout 2026.

With the EGX 30 now up more than 25% year-to-date, investors continue to rotate into sectors tied to domestic economic activity, particularly real estate, financial services, banking, and consumer-facing industries.

The strong performance of the dollar-denominated index is equally important. While local investors have benefited from rising share prices, foreign investors are also seeing meaningful gains when measured in US dollar terms, improving the market's international attractiveness.

Sector leadership remains broad, with financial services, real estate, and banking continuing to provide liquidity and support for the broader market.

As the second half of 2026 approaches, investors will be watching whether Egypt's equity rally can maintain momentum amid global shifts in interest-rate expectations, commodity prices, and emerging-market capital flows.
