Russia's LNG Facility Ships First Cargo to China
Bloomberg, A Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility has delivered its first shipment to China since the United States imposed sanctions in January, marking a significant step in the strengthening of energy cooperation between Beijing and Moscow.
The vessel Valera, which carried the shipment from Gazprom's Portovaya facility in the Baltic Sea in October, arrived at the Beihai import terminal in southern China on Monday, according to shipping data collected by Bloomberg.
The sanctions were imposed by the Biden administration to disrupt Russia's plans to increase its LNG exports.
